Thunder on the Square returns to Downtown Princeton, Indiana

Princeton, IN – On Saturday, August 16, 2014, Downtown Princeton, Inc. presents the second annual Thunder on the Square Motorcycle Rally to be held in Downtown Princeton, IN, on the west and north sides of the courthouse from noon to 7 pm.  Rain or shine, Thunder on the Square Motorcycle Rally will feature live music, a swap meet, food booths and motorcycle accessory vendors.

There are a few new things for this year’s event. There is a Bike show open to all makes of bikes with 7 classes and a People’s Choice award.  ABATE region 13 will be hosting the Kid’s Bike Adventure. This is a free riding opportunity for children up to 14 years old to ride modified bikes in a controlled environment. And lastly, all attending will be invited to “Make it Thunder” a couple of times during the day’s event. All the riders will be invited to start their bikes all at the same time and rev their engines to “make it thunder.”

Rolling Thunder, Indiana Chapter 6, will present the “Missing Man Table” ceremony which is a special table set in memory of fallen, missing, or imprisoned military service-members. And the Rolling Disciples motorcycle ministry will perform a blessing of the bikes.

Thunder on the Square is a free, family-friendly event and everyone is invited. Please, no alcohol, no weapons, and no colors.

Schedule:

Noon – Thunder on the Square begins

Noon to 4 p.m. – Kid’s Riding Adventure

2 to 5 p.m. – Bike Show

2:45 – Blessing of the Bikes – Rolling Disciples

2:55 – “Make it Thunder”- All the riders start their bikes and rev engines to make it thunder.

3 – 6 p.m. – The classic rock band “Descent” performs in the gazebo

4 – 5 p.m. – Tricycle races

6 p.m. – “Make it Thunder”

6:15 to 6:45 p.m. – Rolling Thunder, Indiana Chapter 6, presents the “Missing Man Table” Ceremony

7:00 pm –Parade begins (All riders attending the event are invited to participate). The parade route will go south on Hart Street, East on Indiana State Road 64, South on Main Street all the way to Hwy 41.
